Storytelling is an extraordinary means of communication, which leads both listener and narrator into a shared reflection.
When storytelling occurs in situ - that is where the story and its archetypal values are physically rooted - this leads to a heightened sense not only of the story itself but of the sense of our existence.
Storygardenz is about what happens when you mix STORY + GARDEN + ZED, where "story" represents narration in all its forms - also visual, sensual and musical - where a "garden" is a location but also a metaphor and where "z" or "zed" ("to be stable and hollow") is allied to a zen perception of the world.
The world manifested through this MIX, provides the context of our professional work: storytelling and map making, communication, marketing, contemporary art, cultural and green tourism.
A Storygardenz is also a special place, with a special story, which promotes itlself as a destination for vacation time (quality time), reunion and creative work (incubator or creative workspace).
It has been demonstrated that a sojourn in such a locale, has surprising effects on levels of brain functioning, creativity and vitality. Perhaps it is the result of the stories, or of the art, or of the garden, or indeed of ZED, which has the capability of lowering rhythms and altering perspectives. For sure, it is the complex MIX of all these factors - the possibility of inhabiting a work-art-place - which makes this concept unique.
A pilot and demo project has been created in the residence and park of RVS-Monte Oliviero, in Rome.
